A video documenting a waiter’s life in Ahmedabad has made the internet emotional as social media users were thoroughly inspired by his sheer grit and determination to navigate challenges. Posted by a restaurant’s Instagram account Nini’s Kitchen, the short clip titled “Ghar se door, ek waiter” has gone viral on social media.
“His genuine smile is the warmest,” is what most social media users said after watching the video in which the young man was seen preparing for the day ahead. The person recording the Instagram reel was welcomed with a million-dollar smile by the man in his room that was neatly organised.

His bed was tidy, and the kitchen was spick and span, while he converted a refrigerator into a makeshift cupboard for his clothes.
In the video, he is seen preparing tea for himself as he purchases basic essentials from a shop nearby. Next, he cleans utensils, irons his clothes, locks his house and sets off for work where he serves food to customers with a big smile.
His meagre lifestyle doesn’t affect his cheerful spirit and that is the biggest takeaway from this video.
The comments section of the viral video that social media users found “wholesome” has another important message: “It wouldn’t hurt to be kind to restaurant staff. Let’s be compassionate people, understanding that everyone has their struggles and deserve respect.”

Nini’s Kitchen, in fact, also shared the reason behind creating this particular video: “This was made a day after one of his colleagues was yelled at by a guest for being asked to wait. Just wanted to highlight they’re not nameless people, but real people with REAL feelings, giving their best every day to make a living. A little compassion would be nice.”
