The combined assets of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari now stand at a staggering Rs 931 crore, marking a significant 39 per cent surge since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, according to the poll affidavit.

The couple’s assets, which were valued at Rs 668 crore in 2019, have predominantly grown through Bhuvaneswari’s substantial holdings in companies like Heritage Foods, Nirvana Holdings, among others.

The former Chief Minister’s wife also possesses precious metals including gold, diamonds, and silver valued at Rs 3 crore.

The couple’s immovable properties span across Hyderabad, Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, indicating a diversified portfolio.

Despite this financial growth, Naidu finds himself embroiled in 24 criminal cases, including allegations related to the Amaravati land scam, fibernet scam, and skill development scam.

In a move signalling their continued engagement in politics, Bhuvaneswari submitted her husband’s nomination from the Kuppam Assembly constituency on Friday.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls, Chandrababu Naidu won from the Kuppam seat by winning 1,00,146 votes, while the YSRCP’s Krishna Chandra Mouli came in second with 69,424 votes.

Earlier this month, the TDP supremo promised better quality alcohol at “reduced prices” if they formed a government in the state after the simultaneous Assembly and the Lok Sabha polls on May 13.

“I am telling you, after 40 days (of TDP forming the government), not only quality liquor, we will take the responsibility for reducing prices (as well),” Chandrababu Naidu said at an election rally in Kuppam.

For the upcoming elections, the BJP-TDP-Jana Sena Party finalised a seat-sharing agreement for Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP would contest six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. The TDP, meanwhile, has been given 17 Lok Sabha and 144 Assembly seats.

The Jana Sena Party has been given two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly constituencies.
