Bono paid Moya Brennan a sincere condolences by referring to the late Clannad frontwoman as” an angel” after her passing on Monday ( 13.04.26 ) at the age of 73.
The U2 frontman recently worked with Clannad on the song In a Life and frequently praised Moya’s unusual words.
The British singer said:” She walked through this earth like an angel, and now she’s again with her own form.” We adore you, Moya.
The singer was also honored by Andrea Corr, who wrote,” A blessing to have had occasion with you. The most beautiful words and heart.” Dear Moya. Rest in tranquility. Praying for the comfort of your dear family and friends.
Una Healy, a former Saturdays sun, shared a photo of herself with Moya and reflected on their time performing up.
She wrote:” Greatly saddened to hear of the loss of the great Moya Brennan, Ireland’s earliest woman of Celtic music.
I had the excellent pleasure of meeting and singing with Moya on numerous occasions because she was such a gorgeous man and a story.
Moya, who was the voice of Clannad, was born Máire Ná Bhraonáin in Gaoth Dobhair on August 4, 1952. She rose to fame as one of Ireland’s most renowned artistic voices.
The party evolved from a few small cafe gigs to a well-known international act that combines traditional Irish music with contemporary influences.
Their discovery came in 1982 with Theme from Harry’s Game, which made them the earliest European group to appear on Top of the Pops and won numerous prizes, including an Ivor Novello and a Grammy.
Moya’s airy vocals, which were featured on more than 30 albums, helped identify the noise of the band as they collaborated on international film and television projects and made international travel arrangements.
Their 50th anniversary tour, In a Life, came to an end in 2013 with their ultimate studio album, Nádr, which was released in 2013.
Her girl Eithne, who is well-known around the world as Enya, also started her career with the band before becoming a worldwide single star.
Moya passed away after a brief illness caused by the lung condition lung disease.
