They proceeded towards Dehradun, evading security measures. The group eventually assembled at a gurdwara in the Race Course area of Dehradun.

Upon learning of the breach, District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal, and other senior officials engaged in multiple rounds of negotiations with the Nihang representatives throughout the night. SSP Dobhal stated, “We held continuous talks with the jathedars who had arrived from Paonta Sahib. While many agreed to our terms and returned, about 15 to 20 individuals broke through the security barriers and attempted to enter the district. However, they were later persuaded and sent back.”
