The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the correction window for NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination candidates, allowing aspirants to update their present address and preferred examination cities ahead of the fresh exam scheduled for June 21.

The move comes after the earlier NEET-UG 2026 examination was cancelled following concerns related to irregularities and paper leak allegations. The re-exam will now be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode across the country.

According to the latest public notice issued by NTA, the examination will take place from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, including the time allotted for examination formalities.

A SECOND CHANCE, WITH MORE FLEXIBILITY

To make the process smoother for candidates, NTA has opened a special correction facility from May 15 to May 21, 2026, till 11:50 pm on the official website.

During this period, candidates can update:

  • Present residential address

  • First preferred examination city

  • Second preferred examination city

Officials clarified that if candidates do not use this facility, their previously selected examination city will automatically remain unchanged.

Importantly, no correction fee will be charged for these updates.

ONLY LIMITED CHANGES ALLOWED

NTA has clearly stated that no corrections other than the present address and city preference will be permitted during this window.

Candidates have also been advised that no requests for changes will be entertained after May 21 under any circumstances. Aspirants are therefore encouraged to carefully verify their details before submitting the updated preferences online.

The agency reiterated that the NEET re-examination will continue to be conducted offline in 13 languages, ensuring accessibility for students across different regions of the country.

ADMIT CARDS BY JUNE 14

NTA has informed students that city intimation slips, admit cards and additional examination-related instructions will be released later on the official website by June 14.

Students can access all official updates through NTA NEET Official Website.

For queries related to the examination, candidates may contact NTA helpline numbers 011-40759000 and 011-69227700 or email neetug2026@nta.ac.in.

EXAM SYSTEM UNDER CLOSE WATCH

The NEET-UG re-examination remains one of the most closely watched entrance tests this year following the controversy surrounding the cancelled exam cycle.

With lakhs of aspirants preparing once again, NTA and the Centre are expected to implement stricter monitoring and enhanced security arrangements to ensure transparency and restore confidence in the examination process.
