Actor Karisma Kapoor has sparked a conversation around paparazzi etiquette after a video of her from the sets of India’s Best Dancer Season 5 went viral. In the clip, the actor is seen politely requesting photographers not to zoom in while taking pictures.
Karisma, who is set to appear as a judge on the upcoming season alongside Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis, and Jaaved Jaaferi, was posing for the paparazzi outside the set when the moment took place. As the shoot wrapped up, she calmly told them, “Zyada zoom mat karna (Don’t zoom too much).”
The brief exchange quickly caught attention online, with several users discussing the issue of intrusive paparazzi behaviour. Many pointed out that such reminders should not be necessary, calling for more basic courtesy and respect while photographing public figures.

Reacting to the video, one Reddit user wrote, “The fact that this needs to be told to grown-a** individuals!” Another user said, “It’s actually very sad.” A third comment read, “BREAKING NEWS: A mother of two kids, an established actress, and most importantly a woman asks grown men to be decent and basic human beings having basic etiquettes required to be in a society.”
The incident has once again brought focus to boundaries between celebrities and photographers in public spaces. It also echoes similar moments in the past, when actors like Shruti Haasan, Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan have called out paparazzi behaviour.
Karisma Kapoor, one of the most popular Hindi film actors of the 1990s, will appear as a judge on India’s Best Dancer Season 5 alongside Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Jaaved Jaaferi. The show is scheduled to premiere on Sony TV on May 9, 2026. Its recently released promo features Jaaved Jaaferi and points to a season built around a blend of Bollywood style and freestyle dance performances.
Karisma was last seen in the 2024 film Murder Mubarak. She also has the upcoming web series Brown in the pipeline, though its release date has not yet been announced.
