The Delhi government has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing women’s safety in the capital. In response to rising concerns over gender-based violence, the government has allocated additional resources to improve street lighting, install CCTV cameras in public areas, and increase police patrols in vulnerable neighborhoods. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment for women, stating that these measures are crucial for empowering women and ensuring their freedom to move about the city without fear. The government is also launching awareness campaigns to educate the public about women’s rights and encourage community involvement in reporting incidents of harassment. Additionally, a dedicated helpline will be established to provide immediate assistance to women in distress. These initiatives reflect a growing recognition of the need for comprehensive strategies to combat violence against women and promote gender equality in urban spaces.
