A bridge connecting Manipur’s Imphal and Nagaland’s Dimapur was on Wednesday damaged in an explosion by an Improvised explosive device (IED).
The bridge was situated on National Highway 2, and ran through Koubru Leikha, Sapermeina villages, and Kangpokpi district in Manipur.
The explosion happened at nearly 12.45 am on Wednesday.
According to the police, the blast resulted in three craters in the middle of the bridge, with cracks on both ends.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, restrictions were imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles on the highway.
