After serving vintage corset drama and a rooted Bharat Pavilion moment, Alia Bhatt showed up on the red carpet in a gown almost reminiscent of Disney princess Cinderella. Yes, there was a hint of Cinderella here, but not the obvious Disney version. Think less glass-slipper fantasy, more couture princess after-hours.
Alia attended the screening of La Vie D’Une Femme dressed in a dreamy steel blue outfit. The gown featured a sculpted bodice and a cloud-like tulle skirt. The silhouette did the heavy lifting: a fitted corset-style upper half flowing into layers of soft pleating and movement. No dramatic embellishments, no overpowering sparkle.

The jewellery showcased restraint too. A sheer mesh choker complemented the detailing along the neckline, while teardrop-shaped diamond earrings and pendant added just the right amount of polish without making the look feel juvenile — apt for a Cannes red carpet appearance.
She tied her hair in a messy bun, and her minimal makeup kept the look from slipping into costume territory. Even the colour palette — somewhere between silver mist and powder blue — carried a soft, luxe feel.
For her Bharat Pavilion appearance earlier today, Alia Bhatt embraced a more rooted fashion language in an ivory Tarun Tahiliani corset saree. The look merged traditional draping with the structure of a Victorian-style corset gown, creating a silhouette that felt distinctly Indian yet globally relevant. Paired with soft styling and traditional jewellery accents, it was one of her most restrained and elegant Cannes appearances this year.
Before that, Bhatt leaned into full-fledged red carpet glamour in a sharply tailored Tamara Ralph gown. The monotone silhouette featured a plunging neckline and matching draped detailing around the shoulders, but the real focal point was the statement necklace crafted with rare pink coral, Golconda diamonds and finely set diamonds. The styling balanced old-world opulence with modern couture precision.
Her first Cannes look, meanwhile, celebrated the French Riviera itself. Dressed in a dreamy corset-style ball gown painted with scenic landscapes inspired by Cannes, Bhatt delivered a softer take on theatrical dressing.
Romantic yet polished, the look set the tone for a Cannes wardrobe that consistently favoured muted glamour, structured silhouettes and quiet luxury over excess.
