Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a landmark decision to procure all crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), aimed at supporting farmers and ensuring fair pricing for their produce. During a rally in Kurukshetra, Saini emphasized that this initiative will significantly benefit the agricultural community, which has faced challenges due to fluctuating market prices. Previously, the state government procured only 14 crops at MSP, but with this announcement, Haryana aims to become the first state in India to cover all crops under this scheme. The CM also mentioned the waiver of ?133 crores in outstanding canal water charges, which will further alleviate financial burdens on farmers. This decision is expected to enhance the economic stability of farmers, particularly those affected by natural calamities. Additionally, Saini highlighted plans to expedite pending compensation payments for crop damages, ensuring that farmers receive timely assistance. By allowing farmers to purchase three-star motors for tubewell connections from any manufacturer, the government aims to increase accessibility and reduce costs for agricultural operations. This comprehensive approach reflects the BJP’s commitment to agricultural development and farmer welfare ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, positioning the party as a champion of rural interests. The initiative has garnered mixed reactions, with some farmers expressing skepticism about its implementation and effectiveness. Nonetheless, the announcement marks a significant step in addressing the long-standing demands of the agricultural community in Haryana.
