Experts have often found uncontrolled diabetes to be one of the major causes of kidney failure.

One of the most important organs in the body is the kidneys. These bean-shaped organs help flush out toxins like urea, uric acid and body fluids. The kidney is also responsible for filtering blood, producing urine, secretion and excretion. It also regulates acid-base balance, electrolytes, fluid volume and blood pressure in the body. However, due to a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle, from adults to youth, many are facing kidney problems. Many are unaware that consumption of certain foods or medications can pose more problems and affect the kidneys.

Experts have often found uncontrolled diabetes to be one of the major causes of kidney failure. If someone has blood sugar and ignores it and does not take any medications, then their kidneys will be affected. Hence, it is important to never forget to take blood sugar medicines.

As per Dr Amitesh Aggarwal, Head of the Medicine Unit, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi gave an insight on what not to eat on an empty stomach to keep kidneys healthy. The expert revealed that prolonged usage of painkiller tablets on an empty stomach can also be one of the factors of kidney failure. He shares that this can harm the body, especially the kidneys. Hence, any kind of painkiller should be avoided on an empty stomach.

The expert further added that if a person is overweight or obese, that too can put them at risk of kidney failure. Hence, he advises people to keep their body weight in check. By doing so, he says, the kidneys will remain healthy.

It is important to note that sometimes kidney-related problems can also be genetic. If any of your parents, grandparents or any family member had a kidney problem, then there may be a possibility of a risk of kidney disease in future. In case, your kidney problem can be detected early on, then your treatment will begin quickly and in many cases, kidney problems can be cured as well.

Apart from this, make sure to have a balanced diet that can give your body all the necessary nutrients. Also, exercise or do yoga to keep your body healthy.
