West Coast Harley Reid is getting in early to fuel the fire for a rare Friday night derby, taking a cheeky swipe at the Eagles’ crosstown rivals’ colours.
On Thursday, the AFL revealed Eagles and Fremantle would meet in a Friday night blockbuster for just the second time in history in round 20.
While there is still more than a month until that clash on July 24, Reid had no interest in showing the Dockers any love despite their current success.
In a video posted by Cleanskin Laser, where Reid has done multiple promos, the attendant went to put a bib over Harley, which was accompanied by a Dockers jumper.
The 21-year-old showed no interest in putting up with the colours, quickly removing the offending clothing.
“You’re an idiot,” he joked.
‘F***k, where’s the bin, you had me there for a second.”
In derby 62 earlier this year, Reid was fined $1500 for wrestling with Jordan Clark in what was his first sanction for this year and has not shied away from being the villain for Dockers fans since his stunning performance caused a boilover in western derby 58.
The company credited Essential Barberes for the prank inspiration, who attempted to drape a Fremantle coloured bib over former Eagle Liam Ryan earlier this year.
Despite moving to St Kilda this season, the 2018 premiership winner also showed little desire to don the purple, suggesting derby fury still runs deep.
