A video of US Marines rappelling onto an Iranian-flagged vessel in the Arabian Sea and seizing control of ithas surfaced showing.
According to US Central Command, US Marines launched from the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) by helicopter and boarded the cargo vessel M/V Touska on April 19. The forces conducted the operation after the ship allegedly failed to comply with repeated warnings over a six-hour period.

CENTCOM said the guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) disabled the vessel’s propulsion before the Marines descended and took control. The operation took place over the Arabian Sea.
US President Donald Trump confirmed the interception in a post on Truth Social. He claimed that the Iranian-flagged cargo ship Touska attempted to breach a US naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuz.
“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them,” Trump wrote. He added that US Marines had taken full custody of the vessel and were inspecting its contents.
Trump further alleged that the ship is under US Treasury sanctions due to previous “illegal activity.” He said the vessel was intercepted in the Gulf of Oman after it ignored multiple warnings from US forces.
The video of the operation, showing Marines descending onto the ship from helicopters, has intensified focus on the incident, which signals a significant escalation in maritime enforcement actions in the region.
