Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Hailed By Netizens To Allow Re-opening Of ‘Kumari Aunty’ Food Stall

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) to give permission to re-open Kumari Aunty Food Stall located at ITC Kohinoor Circle in Hyderabad, days after it was shut by cops.

The chief minister will soon visit the stall and have his lunch at the popular street food stall, according to an official source to News18.

Kumari Aunty is very popular in Telugu states after videos and reels of her street food stall in Hyderabad went viral on social media.

She achieved celebrity-like status overnight which has attracted foodies from across the state. Many film personalities visit her stall as part of their movie promotions.

The eatery which has been running for over 13 years, is causing severe traffic issues at ITC Kohinoor Circle leading to the registration of a case against the owner, Sai Kumari.

The Hyderabad cops cited reasons including no parking facility at the street food stall and traffic jams caused by the stall in the Hi-tech City route. The police ordered her to vacate the area with her stall till further orders.

“I am requesting the customers not to create vehicular traffic but they are not listening to me. Though there are many food stalls here the police closed my stall only. The stall is my livelihood. Please provide justice to me”, Kumari lamented.

The video of the eatery closure and Kumari’s reaction went viral on social media and it went to the notice of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who has now ordered the DGP to re-open the stall.

The Raidurgam traffic police fined or towed cars parked near the food stand in ITC Kohinoor, which is next to Knowledge City as many YouTubers, and influencers visit the eatery every day between 12-2 p.m. to shoot videos, leading to traffic snarls.

The stall offers rice, chicken, mutton curry, and several other non-vegetarian food items along with four different of rice that are attracting foodies, vloggers, and other people across the state.
