Shanto and Rahman are in hot pursuit as Bangladesh defeat New Zealand in an ODI set.

In the next one-day worldwide in Chattogram, Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 55 runs in the event of Najmul Hossain Shanto’s timely century and Mustafizur Rahman’s five wickets to close out the series 2-1.

After winning the toss and allowing Bangladesh to bats, New Zealand made a quick run out by sending opening Saif Hassan for a two-ball bird and allowing Tanzid Hasan to execute one onto his trees in the next over.

Bangladesh were in difficulties at 3-32 when the paceman also defeated Soumya Sarkar for 18 when Shanto and Das fought back through a 160-run relationship when New Zealand’s bowlers somewhat went off the boil.

Jayden Lennox (2-50 ) took the fourth-wicket stand when he bowled Das before Shanto recorded his first ODI century since 2024 and then left while attempting to increase the ranking percentage with seven innings left.

Towhid Hridoy ( 33 ) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz ( 22 ) both made quick knocks, while Ben Lister (2-62 ) claimed late wickets to keep things in check. Bangladesh finished with 8-265.

New Zealand won the series opening by 26 works in Mirpur, and the visitors came back to level at 1-1 on Monday with a six-wicket win at the same place.

The team will begin their Twenty20 International matches in Chattogram the following year.
