With less than 12 hours remaining for the first phase of the West Bengal election, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he would lose the electoral battle in Bengal despite ‘misusing all institutions, including the Election Commission of India (ECI).

In addition to this, the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party also extended his support to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ahead of what he believed to be ‘one of the most difficult battles.’

Referring to a telephonic conversation that he had with Banerjee, Kejriwal wrote on X, “Just spoke to Mamta didi on phone. Expressed complete solidarity and support. She is fighting one of the most difficult battles, which is also one of the most important battles for Indian democracy. Modi ji will lose, in spite of misusing all institutions, including the CEC.”

Kejriwal’s comments came a day after the Election Commission of India denied the Trinamool supremo permission to hold a rally in her assembly constituency in Bhabanipur. Following the refusal, Banerjee launched a blistering attack against the poll body, hinting at the alleged nexus between the institution and the BJP-ruled central government.

KEJRIWAL EXTENDS SUPPORT TO MK STALIN

A few days ago, Arvind Kejriwal campaigned for MK Stalin and his party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), for the 2026 assembly election.

After the roadshow, Kejriwal wrote on X, “Did a roadshow with Thiru M.K. Stalin. He is deeply loved and respected by the people of Tamil Nadu. I appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to remain wary of any alliance involving the BJP. The BJP alliance would dismantle the incredible progress made under Thiru Stalin.”

During a press conference in Chennai, Kejriwal also highly appreciated Stalin for the welfare schemes he has launched in the state. He also expressed his gratitude to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for standing with him during his difficult time.

“Whenever the Aam Aadmi Party or I have been in an individual crisis, DMK, all its leadership and Thiru Stalin ji have stood firm with us. The kind of welfare activities he is doing for the people of Tamil Nadu is unprecedented. The poor and the middle-class people are feeling a lot of relief because of him,” Kejriwal said.
