27′ TRY: Knights go the length of the field to score
Brilliant from the Knights.
A set that started on their own goal-line has ended with a try.
Jermaine McEwen broke out of a tackle attempt of AJ Brimson, and the big backrower made a 40-metre line break.
Knights five-eighth Sandon Smith then runs at a staggered defence, gets an offloads to Fletcher Sharpe, and it is Sharpe who then steps Titans’ fullback Keano Kini and scores.

26′ Titans go very close
Titans halfback Zane Harrison puts in a great grubber.
AJ Brimson is chasing, and he claims that he has grounded the footy.
But Knights centre Dane Gagai grounded the ball first … JUST.
Goal-line dropout for the Knights.
The Titans have a full set at the Knights’ line, but the Knights hold firm.
A poor pass on the final play led to Beau Fermor kicking, and Kalyn Ponga gathers.

17′ Oliver Pascoe nursing a sore lower leg
The Titans make a linebreak, and Oliver Pascoe gets the final pass, but a great cover tackle from prop Jacob Saifiti saves the day for Newcastle.
Pascoe drops the ball, and stays on the ground with a lower leg issue.
Saifiti landed on the Titans hooker’s legs, but Pascoe is OK to continue.

9′ Knights come very close
The Titans do not clean up a grubber kick to the in-goal.
The ball goes close to the deadball line, and it is tapped back. The Knights ground the footy and claim a try.
But ball bounced on the deadball line before being grounded.
Titans get away with one there.

7′ Phillip Sami almost intercepts
A nice shift from the Knights down the right created an overlap.
Dane Gagai sent a pass to the right, intended for winger Dom Young, who would have been in space.
But Gold Coast winger Phillip Sami stuck his hand out, and came very close to intercepting and running 40 metres to score.

The Titans got to the end of their first set and put up a bomb.
The Knights players let it bounce, and then Dane Gagai tried to gather the ball and dropped it, regathered by the Titans.

How do you think the final day of Magic Round will play out?
Arvo Michael. Not to sure what to expect in these final games of Magic Round – blowout scores, good tries, consistent/non existent defence or the extraordinary errors of last night. Going for the Titans, Warriors and the Panthers today. Whatever comes our way at least no injuries please.

A highlight of Magic Round so far?
What’s been your highlight of Magic Round so far, Mick?
– Roger
G’day Roger.
I thought the Cowboys win over the Roosters was one of the best, if not the best, games of this season.
But I am thrilled to be at Lang Park today.
The Warriors-Broncos clash is going to have a tremendous atmosphere — I think it will be a Warriors home game, judging by the number of Wahs jerseys I saw around the stadium.

A final audition before State of Origin selection tomorrow
These are the final three matches before State of Origin selection is announced tomorrow.
If rumours are to be believed, Reece Walsh may not be the Queensland fullback, and Kalyn Ponga could be the Maroons halfback.
The NSW side also has spots up for grabs, especially in the forwards, with the change in eligibility meaning some players are now available for selection.

Why Gold Coast has already won the NRL’s Magic Round
One of the best parts of Magic Round is going jersey-spotting but before a ball is kicked in Brisbane the Titans have already cleaned up via their Chargers-inspired retro strip.

Relive the action from Saturday Magic Round
Todd Payten said his side’s victory over the Roosters was “as good a win as I’ve had” with the club as Melbourne notched back-to-back wins after a messy 34-8 victory over Parramatta and the Sea Eagles thrash Wests Tigers in Magic Round at Lang Park.
