John Krasinski and Emily Blunt prioritise their family over their own careers.
The 46-year-old actor and Emily, 43, have both enjoyed huge success in Hollywood – but John insists that their kids are always their number one priority in life.
John – who has been married to Emily since 2010 – told CBS Mornings: “Honestly, the simple answer is ‘kids and family first.’ We always have done, luckily, a good job of doing one [movie] and then the next [one]. So one of us is always home with the kids.”
John said the celebrity couple also make a point of bringing their daughters – Hazel, 11, and Violet, nine – to their filming locations wherever possible.
The movie star said: “We bring those kids wherever we’re shooting and wherever we can spend time with them. So we shot all of this in New York, A Quiet Place is in New York, and Jack Ryan was over in London. They came over in London with us. It’s a circus! It’s a family circus!”
John previously admitted that his children are more impressed by their mother’s acting career than his.
The film star revealed that his kids think Emily, his wife, is much cooler than he is.
John – who actually involved his children in the process of making IF, his animated fantasy film – told People: “When they found out that I was going to do it, it was really exciting because it was the first time that I had ever involved them in anything.
“I was pretty sure that they thought I was an accountant before this because their mom was Mary Poppins and in ‘Jungle Cruise’. So she was off to a very biased start with our girls.”
John also revealed how his kids inspired IF.
The actor – who wrote, produced and directed the animated film – observed that his kids “disappear into a magical world that we, as parents, aren’t allowed into”.
John – who has also worked with his wife on the Quiet Place film franchise – shared: “I said to Emily, ‘That would make an amazing movie.’”
