Sabastian Sawe, a Kenyan, won the London Marathon in an hour, 59 moments, and 30 seconds, becoming the first person to complete a workout in less than two hours. &nbsp,

The 31-year-old Sawe broke the previous record held by Kelvin Kiptum, who ran a workout in Chicago in October 2023 in a time of 2:00:35.

Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia stayed on Sawe’s shoes for the majority of the 42.195-kilometer training before fading down the final stretch to consider following in his marathon album with 1: 59.41, while Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda won the bronze medal in 2: 02.28.

Kiptum was only 24 years old when he died in a car accident in Kenya in 2024.

Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia broke her own women’s single world history in the process of winning.

The 29-year-old overcame the house stretch to defeat Kenyans Hellen Obiri and Joyciline Jepkosgei, who had set a record of 2:15.50 set by her last season in London.

Obiri was next in 2: 15.53, while Jepkosgei took the bronze in 2: 15.55.

The men’s and women’s wheelchair activities were won by Switzerland’s Marcel Hug and Catherine Debrunner. &nbsp,

Debrunner outsprinted American Tatyana McFadden to the end in London for her second win in a row while Hug won for the fifth time in a row and seventh overall.
