Brisbane City Council has confirmed that hearth ants have been discovered at Musgrave Park.

People of the South Brisbane inner-city area on May 4 identified the invasive species.

Fire ants can cause substantial economic harm and cause painful bites that are painful.

Since Brisbane’s early 2000s, enormous resources have been dedicated to eradicating the violent pests that were first discovered there.

In the South Brisbane park, about five nests were discovered, and according to the council, precautions had been taken to” treat” them to stop spread.

Paul King, the West End Community Association’s secretary, said,” It’s a great concern, and it should be a big concern for all residents of South Brisbane.”

” It seems to me that the entire plan to eliminate fire ants won’t get achieving its goal of eradication by 2032,” he said.” If it isn’t, the 2032 Brisbane Olympics are going to be known for fire ant wounds because they are devastating.

A native of Musgrave Park in South Brisbane took a picture of a nest that is thought to contain fire bees.

It’s only a reminder that we need to “get on top of this quickly, or not at all.”

Residents who spoke with this masthead said they were aware that hormones were used on the nests, which do not eliminate the ants upon contact but do lessen the colony’s ability to regenerate over a long period of time.

The National Fire Ant Eradication Program was contacted by this banner shortly after 4pm on Friday. It stated that it would provide more information about the breakthrough on Monday evening and that it did not have time to listen.
