When asked how he was feeling, Moore was honest.

“Yeah f–k, sorry, excuse my language,” he said on Fox Footy. “Yeah, feels pretty raw mate, we did so much right to win that game and get the four points, and instead we walk away with two. That’s footy sometimes.

“It stings mate, but a lot to like out of that game.”

Moore said he was proud of his group and asked if he would have preferred extra time over a draw, he said, “Ask the fans”.

Thanks so much for joining us.

That’s all for tonight’s coverage, but join us again tomorrow and over the weekend for more footy action.

Have a lovely night.

Remember when we mentioned that a trainer had fallen down mid-match? It was actually one of Hawthorn’s physios.

Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell admitted he didn’t know to describe his emotions after tonight’s draw.

“I’m unsure how to feel. To me, that’s one of the beauties of sport, I know there’s a lot of talk about the draw and playing extra time … I think we would have won if we had it, I’m sure Craig would have said the same,” he said during a post-match press conference.

Mitchell noted the Hawks “couldn’t find a way to score” and commended Collingwood for making the most of their chances.

Mitchell did not share McRae’s more positive, “glass half full” attitude on the draw.

“The glass is exactly in the middle … which is why it’s a difficult feeling,” he said.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae admitted the Pies have some work to do around “decision-making” and “little moments”,but maintained his team played some really good footy against one of the best sides in the competition.

He also commended Dylan Moore for his efforts in the final seconds of the game.

When quizzed about Collingwood’s performance, Mcrae remained upbeat, saying “I really reward our fight”.

“We are playing one of the best teams in the competition. Which glass do you want to drink, the half empty one or the full one?” he said. “We are definitely half full, top me up because we’ve got more coming.”

McRae maintained the team was still a “work in progress” and Collingwood would keep improving, noting a five-day break can be hard on players.

The coach said ruckman Darcy Cameron – who looked to be involved in a knee collision earlier in the game – had an ankle injury and would get scans tomorrow.

Dylan Moore, who kicked the game-tying goal after the siren, admitted playing in a draw is a pretty “bizarre feeling”.

“It feels really weird, it’s only my second draw … the boys were getting around me, at least one of us can kick straight,” he joked.

He says the team will take the two points and now will look to the week ahead in Perth.

It was the Thursday night thriller that really shouldn’t have been.

Collingwood had little right to be competitive with Hawthorn, let alone beat them – but almost did so any way.

They led for most of the night in front of 76,632 fans at the MCG, only for Pies captain Darcy Moore to drop a mark he would normally take, then concede a high free kick to Dylan Moore, who kicked a goal after the siren to leave the sides to settle for a draw.

That accurate Dylan Moore finish, from inside 30 metres, was a rare one for the Hawks, who kicked more behinds (15) than goals (13) as Collingwood kicked 15.3 to make up for being beaten up in the contest and in clearance.

Jack Ginnivan has been interviewed after the draw, admitting the result is a “get out of jail free card” for Hawthorn, who were haunted by inaccuracy all night.

“Better than a loss, so we are happy … we’ll take the two points,” he told Fox Footy.

“Obviously extra time would be great,” he said when asked whether he’d like to see the game extended.

“Imagine all the fans, an extra five minutes.”
