Employee automates 60% work, saves time, but wonders if telling boss is a mistake

A simple workplace experiment has turned into a tricky situation for one employee.

According to a post shared on Reddit, the person managed to automate a large part of his team’s daily work, but now he is unsure whether sharing it with his manager is a good idea.

The employee explained that he used VBA codes, with help from AI tools, to automate nearly three-fourths of a process handled by around 100 people of his team.

After testing it carefully, he found that the system works smoothly and without errors. In fact, it could save nearly 60 percent of the time spent on these tasks.

What makes the situation unusual is not the innovation itself, but the question that followed: should he tell his manager about it?
