In the English midwest, Darren Lehmann appears to have found a house.

The original Australia coach, who left the team in the midst of the ball-tampering incident, has extended his contract with the ungraceful state of Northamptonshire, extending his commitment to the Wantage Road clothing until 2029.

The 56-year-old first contacted Northants in October 2024 and immediately settled in.

He led the state to Finals Day in the T20 contest next year, which was their first appearance since winning the event, and their final honor, in 2016.

Northants, one of three counties in the 18-club English set-up that has never won the county championship’s major white-ball competition, is one of the smallest.

Since splitting into two divisions in 1989, they have spent 20 of their 27 seasons in the second tier, but they are currently sitting minute this year with a possibility of promotion.

Nathan McSweeney, Harry Conway, Liam Guthrie, and Chris Lynn have all been named as Lehmann’s supporters this time.

Lehmann said,” It was an easy decision for me because I love the place.”

” I’m happy to be continuing this because everyone has made it such a community league for me.”

We only hope to continue improving and to show our team pride along the way.

We’re all delighted to have Darren’s service renewed for another two times. According to Northamptonshire CEO Ray Payne,” He’s been a great match since his first evening, and he’s taking the team in a actually good direction.”

” Darren’s transparency and closeness with the followers has had a significant impact,” he said, praising his efforts to date and the anticipation for what the coming years may take on the field.

Lehmann led Australia to victory in two Ashes line and the 2015 World Cup as head coach for five years starting in 2013. The South Australian has even coached the Steam of Queensland and the South of Australia.
