The water distributor’s CEO for much of south-east Queensland has submitted his resignation and will move along in the coming year.
In September 2022, Paul Arnold was appointed to lead the government-owned company Urban Utilities, and he will depart in October of that year.
The Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, and Somerset governments, which have a community of 1.6 million, receive water and wastewater companies from Urban Utilities.
An Urban Utilities spokesperson said in a statement that Arnold’s choice was one to “pursue fresh professional and personal possibilities.”
Prior to joining Urban Utilities, Arnold held senior positions at big corporations like Energy Resources Australia and the Queensland Resources Council.
Paul Vincent, the head of the table, described Arnold as having helped the organization through a tough period.
” On behalf of the board, I thank Paul for his passion and commitment, as well as his unwavering support for a smooth move for his successor,” he said.
In the 2024/25 financial year, Urban Utilities had a total operating revenue of more than$ 1.6 billion.
