President Donald Trump’s statement that US diplomats were headed to Pakistan for another round of talks with Iran has been questioned by the US Navy’s forced arrest of an Iranian-flagged cargo ship.
Iran has not confirmed that it will attend, but Trump’s announcement on Sunday ( US time ) had raised hopes of extending a fragile ceasefire that was scheduled to expire on Wednesday.
Trump added that the US seized the cargo ship forcibly on Sunday ( US time ) near the Strait of Hormuz in response to a naval blockade that had been in place since last week’s start of the blockade of Iranian ports.
He claimed that US Marines were in control of the vehicle, Touska, and that a US Navy guided missile warship in the Gulf of Oman” stopped them right in their lines” by “blasing a gap in the engineroom”!
A US Mariner sent a message to the Iranian-flagged ship to US Central Command in a film that was posted on X, and it claims to show the exact moment the US seized Touska for breaking the US-imposed siege in the Gulf of Oman.

Before forces seized the ship, CENTCOM claimed its hearth had targeted the ship’s website room.
