Every year during the last week of April, World Immunization Week is observed to educate people and promote the use of vaccination in order to prevent life-threatening diseases.
World Immunization Week was first marked in 2012.
World Immunization Week is one of the most important healthcare events that focuses on promoting the usage and life-saving power of vaccination to help people fight against preventable diseases. In collaboration with various international and local organisations, the World Health Organization (WHO) marks this worldwide event to educate people about the importance of vaccination and protect them from life-threatening illnesses for which immunisation is available.
This event is typically observed during the last week of April. This year, World Immunization Week will be celebrated from April 24 to 30.
