As she gazes upon a cherished piece of history at the Women’s Australian Open, Hannah Green asserts that it is her mind that may matter.
Green leads by one shot heading into Sunday’s last circular at Adelaide’s Kooyonga Golf Club.
The universe number one Nine is nine under and gearing up for a final-round fight with Argentina’s Magdalena Simmermacher ( eight under ).
At five under, Casandra Alexander and Agathe Laisne from South Africa are the closest to the hunting package, while Karis Davidson and Kirsten Rudgeley from Australia and Celine Herbin from France are at four under.
Following five-time hero Karrie Webb, Jane Crafter, and Jan Stephenson, Green wants to be just the third nearby to get the available.
After putting in a four-under 68 on Saturday, Green said,” I have just got to keep focusing on what I can do.”
” Just focusing on what I’m doing and controlling what I can, because there were a couple of nice shells from people playing a little bit earlier now.
” Depending on the time of the fairway, I might need to divert myself a little bit, perhaps go out for brunch.”
” But I’m really excited,” I sincerely hope there will be more people there and more individuals will attend. “
Adelaide’s estimates for Sunday is for a great 28-degree time with less of the weather that has been problematic on the chillier, cooler opening three days.
” Hopefully that means the program firmes off because it’s been bounced a little bit bigger, but it didn’t,” Green said.
” Hopefully not too much wind ( morrow ), because it got pretty gusty those final few holes.
I’ve had a lot of great wedge shots over the past two days, and it’s been great to capitalize on those shots because there are many times when you don’t have easy shots in.
” And the idle has also been kind to me.
” So I’m hoping to have that tomorrow. “
