Vicky Kaushal, who welcomed his son Vihaan in November 2025 with Katrina Kaif, recently spoke about the changes that parenthood has brought to his life. Calling Katrina a ‘warrior mother’, he talked about his experience as a father. The couple, who married in December 2021, introduced their child to the public earlier this year, describing him as their ‘Ray of Light.’

Kaushal recently spoke at an event, where he called Katrina a “warrior mother” for her commitment and resilience since their son’s birth. He described how Katrina had taken a break from work to care for Vihaan, highlighting her approach to motherhood and emphasising his pride in her.
In a conversation with Neha Dhupia at The Hollywood Reporter India event, Kaushal was asked, “How is it being a brand new dad?”
Kaushal said, “He is three months old right now, there’s very little a dad has to do when the baby is three months old, I’m just trying to be a cheerleader, and I’m waiting for him to grow up so I can contribute more.”
He continued to praise Katrina Kaif’s role during this period, saying, “Right now, the mother (Katrina) is being the superhero, and she’s been a warrior through her pregnancy, and she’s been a warrior as a mother as well. I’m so incredibly proud of her and I love her so much.”
Earlier, Kaushal described fatherhood as a transformative experience. He said, “Becoming a father this year is my biggest moment of 2025. It is a magical feeling. I always felt that when the time came, I would be very emotional and ecstatic, but it has actually been the most grounding moment that I have ever experienced in my life.”
The couple’s announcement of Vihaan’s birth included a message: “Our Ray of Light. Vihaan Kaushal. Prayers are answered. Life is beautiful. Our world is changed in a instant Gratitude beyond words (sic),” reflecting their joy at becoming parents.
While Katrina has taken a break from work, Vicky Kaushal is continuing his film commitments.
