After the majority of submissions were withdrawn, the Trans-Tasman Yacht Race’s primary competition between Sydney and Auckland was called off days right away.

The 1, 270 coastal hour (2, 352 km ) competition was scheduled to begin on February 27 and meet in Auckland with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

The Cabbage Tree Island Race and the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race were both scheduled for the third and final legs of the Southern Cross Series.

However, the Australian Cruising Yacht Club on Tuesday announced the delay of the blue-water culture.

The CYCA stated in a statement that the event was no more “operationally worthwhile” due to the withdrawal of nine of the eleven entries, a number that had been caused by damage in other ethnicities this summer.

URM Group, a formidable front-runner for column honors and total success in the 2025 Sydney to Hobart race, was one of the payments.

One of the many boats that had to withdraw from the previous year’s competition because of bulkhead damage was URM Group.

It is understood that the ship was unable to be fixed in time for the trans-Tasman function.

Although the result was unsatisfactory, CYCA commodore Sam Haynes said that suspending the celebration was” the most dependable choice” for the club.

The late decline in this fleet does not reflect the fact that we take pride in hosting high-profile dynamic events, Haynes said.

” We continue to be committed to developing new race opportunities with strong support from the participants and the customer community.”

We want to congratulate the crew who participated in the competition for their assistance, as well as our finishing companion, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

No new date has been set. A time may be determined following a proper review, according to the CYCA.
