Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Tim David produced one of the standout moments of IPL 2026 when he launched a colossal 106-metre six against Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 5.

The brutal hit, which landed on the stadium roof before flying out of the ground, capped a stunning late assault that turned an already strong RCB innings into a complete demolition job. David’s monster strike came during a jaw-dropping 19th over from Jamie Overton, in which he plundered 30 runs.

On the final ball of the over, Overton banged one in short from around the wicket, and David swivelled into the pull to middle it sweetly. The ball first landed on the stadium roof before sailing out of the ground, capping a breathtaking late cameo that helped RCB post a mammoth 250 for three.

But what happened to the ball after it left the stadium?

Fans standing outside Chinnaswamy spotted the ball as it came out of the ground. When it eventually landed on the road outside the stadium, one of them collected it and walked away with it.

TIM DAVID ASSAULT ROCKS CSK

David remained unbeaten on a sensational 70 off just 25 balls, smashing three fours and eight sixes at a staggering strike rate of 280. It was a knock that came at exactly the right time for RCB, who were well-placed but not yet out of sight before the Australian took complete control in the death overs.

When David walked in after Devdutt Padikkal’s half-century, RCB were 151/3 in 14.1 overs. From there, he joined captain Rajat Patidar, who remained unbeaten on 48, as the duo tore CSK apart in the closing stages. Their unbroken stand was worth 99 runs off just 35 balls, a partnership that firmly put RCB in command.

In reply, CSK fought hard but never truly recovered from the damage inflicted in the final overs of RCB’s innings. They were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs, handing RCB a commanding 43-run victory. David was deservedly named Player of the Match for a knock that was equal parts destruction and spectacle.

Having won both their matches so far, RCB will look to continue their winning momentum when they take on Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday, April 10.
