Due to being bullied for his appearance, Barry Keoghan has thought about leaving the speaking field.
The 33-year-old Peaky Blinders star admitted that it is becoming a major issue and that it is making him not longer want to be on camera. He acknowledged that he didn’t stop looking at what people have said about him online.
He claimed on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up that despite removing myself from the internet, I still want to follow along and that you can check out how it was received if you attend an event or travel there. Additionally, it is unpleasant. There is a lot of hate online. How I look is being severely abused.
I say this to you being completely honest and true: It’s becoming a concern. But yeah, I don’t need to hide because I’m hiding away. Because I really don’t go to areas because of these things, I don’t have to go there. However, when that begins to become apparent in your work, it becomes problematic because you no longer want to be on the monitor.
Barry is also concerned about Brando, his three-year-old child, and how he feels about reading the comments.
He said,” My little boy has to read all of this stuff as he gets older, but it’s disappointing for the fans.”
According to “lies, hatred, and ugly comments” he received in 2024 after splitting from Sabrina Carpenter, Keoghan deactivated his Instagram account.
On X, he wrote,” I can only take so much.” My brand has been dragged across the internet in ways that I typically don’t listen to.
” I have to respond right away because there are too many lines being crossed right today.”
I deleted my account because I can no longer allow this divert me from my family and my job. No one should ever had to read the messages I have received.
” Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting comments about my looks, character, my parenting style, and every other cruel thing you can think of.”
