A teenager has died in a horror crash between an e-scooter and a ute on a suburban street in Victoria’s west.
Emergency services were called to Lyons St in Terang abut 6.40pm Tuesday after reports a Ford utlity vehicle and an e-scooter had collided.
The driver of the e-scooter, a teenager, was airlifted to hospital and later died.
“The male driver of the Ford utility was not injured and stopped at the scene,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
Police are yet to identify the teenager, but Terang residents have already penned tributes to the e-scooter rider.
“A beautiful kind hearted soul taken (too) early,” a person wrote online.
The fatal crash comes days after 12-year-old Summah Richards was killed while riding an e-scooter abnout 3pm Saturday on Vaux St in Laidley, regional Queensland, after colliding with a Holden Barina.
It is legal to ride an e-scooter in Victoria, but riders must be at least 16 years old, wear a helmet and ride on the shared footpath.
