Shah Rukh Khan created history today as the first Indian male actor to walk the iconic Met Gala red carpet. Dressed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the superstar made a statement in a bold black suit paired with striking jewellery pieces from the designer’s collection. However, not many would know that the actor was quite nervous before attending the Hollywood’s biggest night.
After making a striking appearance, the actor interacted with the media on the blue carpet and spoke about his fabulous outfit. When asked about making history with his outfit, the actor said, “I don’t know about history, but I am extremely nervous and excited. I’ve not done many red carpets, I’m very shy,” he said.

“Just to give a little more context, Shah Rukh Khan is probably one of the most famous men in the world, and his fan following is legendary. We nearly had a stampede outside the hotel when we came out. When you get a man like this on the red carpet, especially when it is Black Dandy, representation is the most important thing. And we wanted to represent Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan and nobody else,” Sabyasachi said.
SRK then added that it was Sabyasachi who convinced him for the debut. Another reason for the superstar to attend the event is because of his children who were delighted by the idea.
SRK accessorized his outfit with many golden necklaces. The two most prominent necklaces include one with his initials ‘SRK’ and another with the letter ‘K’.
