After breaking his neck in two places during a snowboarding exercise program for the 2026 Olympics, American snowboard Cam Bolton was flown to a hospital in Milan.

The snowboard cross swimmer was hurt on Monday during a fall during training, but he was not taken into hospital at the time.

Bolton was sent for a CT scan that revealed two” firm neck bones” after reporting worsening neck pain on Tuesday.

Bolton will go through additional testing and imaging, and the Australian Olympic Committee will collaborate with native physicians to help him with his care.

James Johnstone may join the team on Thursday along with Adam Lambert and Jarryd Hughes in the late-athlete alternative solution.

Halfpipe snowboarder Misaki Vaughan’s Olympic games were also ended as a result of her failure to perform for a head injury assessment ( HIA ) on Tuesday, which was a double blow to the Australian team.

Vaughan suffered a brain injury after striking her during teaching on Monday. She was exempt from competing in the Olympics after being barred from coaching and failing a subsequent Project on Tuesday. According to brain injury guidelines, an athlete must not compete for a minimum of seven times, which means she will lose Wednesday’s women’s halfpipe qualification.
