Singer Rahul Vaidya recently thanked cricketer Virat Kohli for unblocking him on Instagram. Vaidya had earlier made headlines for his controversial “joker” remark directed at Kohli and his fans, following which he claimed that the cricketer had allegedly blocked him on the platform.
On Saturday, Vaidya shared a series of posts expressing gratitude towards Kohli and praising his contributions to Indian cricket. His note began: “Thank you @virat.kohli for unblocking me, you are one of the best batsmen cricket has ever seen, and aap India ka garv ho! Jai Hind. God bless you and your family (sic).”

Addressing the backlash he received after his previous comments, the singer added, “To the immature people who abused my wife and sister, morphed pictures of my little girl, and sent countless hateful messages to me and my loved ones – may God grant you some wisdom (Bhagwan aap sab ko sadbuddhi de). I could respond with the same or worse, but I wouldn’t, because it would only spread more negativity, and that leads nowhere (sic).”
Vaidya also mentioned Kohli directly in a message filled with goodwill, saying, “Also, Vikas Kohli (Virat’s brother) bhai, whatever you said to me – I didn’t feel bad. I know you’re a good human being. I still remember meeting you outside the Manchester or Oval stadium, and all the kind words you said about my singing. Love and peace to all (sic).”

Earlier, Rahul Vaidya had stirred controversy after slamming Kohli and his fans via Instagram Stories. He wrote, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!”
He added, “And now you’re abusing me – fine. But abusing my wife and sister, who have nothing to do with this? That proves my point. That’s why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers – 2 kaudi ke jokers (worthless clowns) (sic).”
The outrage had sparked after Kohli’s Instagram handle was seen liking a post from a fan page dedicated to influencer-actor Avneet Kaur. The cricketer later issued a statement clarifying his stance and urged people not to make unnecessary assumptions.
