Inter Milan have appointed Italian Cristian Chivu as manager on a two-year package in place of Simone Inzaghi, who left the position following the European team’s 5-0 Champions League final lost to Paris St Germain.
Chivu, who has long been groomed for the part, will be in demand in period for their Club World Cup plan.
Previous Inter keeper Chivu, who left Parma less than four weeks in command, played as a keeper for Inter for seven years from 2007 and was piece of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning part in 2010.
He afterwards spent six years coaching their children clubs, from under-14s in 2018 to under-19s in 2024.
” In February 2025, Cristian was given his first chance to coach a mature side as Parma… He led the Emilians to health, with the crew picking up 16 details from 13 games under his guidance”, Inter said in a speech.
” Today, Cristian Chivu is beginning the next chapter of his Nerazzurri account. And he’s doing so with the ideals that have always guided him: commitment, devotion and a diligent labor ethic”.
Inter begin their Club World Cup battle against Mexico’s Monterrey on June 17 in Los Angeles.
Inzaghi, who left the club last week after four decades as manager, has joined Saudi Arabian part Al-Hilal.
