Harry Maguire, a keeper for England and Manchester United, received a 15-month suspended jail sentence from a Greek judge for a 2020 event in Mykonos.
Following his arrest in a fight involving two police officers, Maguire was found guilty of repeatedly inflicting physical injury, attempted extortion, and violence against employees of the public in 2020.
Maguire, who was held for two nights following the incident and denied any wrongdoing, was given a 21-month and 10-day suspended prison sentence before being remanded to court after appealing Greek court records and his convictions on many counts.
In accordance with Greek law, the registration prevented Maguire’s conviction from being fully retried in a more mature court.
His lawsuit was frequently delayed. Maguire was accused of attempting to bribe someone with bribes, resisting imprisonment, and other serious abuse.
The 32-year-old was found guilty of all three counts but will not encounter sentencing. His legal group may file an appeal against the sentencing.
Joe and Christopher Sharman, Maguire’s brother, and friend Christopher Sharman, both found guilty of crimes relating to the affair and served prison sentences suspended in 2020. Additionally, they denied any wrongdoing.
