Dhurandhar: The Revenge has brought Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol into public attention, as many viewers have drawn parallels between him and the character Jameel Jamali, played by Rakesh Bedi. In an interview now, the politician reacted to the film’s portrayal of gangster and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

In Dhurandhar 2, the character Dawood Ibrahim, referred to as Bade Sahab, is shown as a frail and bedridden man living in Karachi. When asked about this portrayal, Gabol said that he has never met Dawood and is unaware if he resides in Karachi.

During an interaction with the host of Kyon Ghanti Bajee, Gabol was asked, “Humare Mumbai se ek padosi rehte hain Karachi mein, unhe bade sahab bolte hain. Kya aap mile ho unse?” He replied that he had never met the person, nor had he heard about him personally. He mentioned that the media and the film suggest Dawood Ibrahim lives in Karachi’s Clifton area, which is about 200 metres from his home, but he has no direct knowledge or experience regarding him.

Gabol also commented on the film’s depiction of Dawood Ibrahim’s health, saying, “Dhurandhar mein dhikhaya hai ke woh death bed pe hain aur marne wale hai Jameel ke injection dene ke baad. But mujhe nahi pata ke woh hai ya nahi hai.”

Jameel Jamali, the character linked to Gabol, is depicted in Dhurandhar 2 as a sharp and manipulative politician based in Karachi. The plot reveals that he is an Indian spy, adding complexity to his role in the story.

The film features Ranveer as Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent who infiltrates the gangster world of Lyari to dismantle ISI-funded terror networks. A flashback shows Hamza as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a Sikh boy aspiring to join the Indian Army like his father.

Dhurandhar 2 is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The film, written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, blends action and espionage themes centred around cross-border tensions. It is working fabulously at the box office, with global numbers reaching the benchmark of Rs 1,500 crore.
