Pahalgam Terror Attack: Who Are Invited To Rajnath Singh-Chaired All-Party Meeting Today? Full List

The government will hold an all-party meeting today at 6 PM on the Pahalgam terror attack. One leader each from DMK, TMC, Shiv Sena, and others are expected to attend.

The government is set to convene an all-party meeting on Thursday in the wake of the terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. The meeting is expected to begin at 6 pm at the Parliament Annexe.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to chair the meeting, which is expected to see one leader from each party.

Quoting sources, news agency PTI said Home Minister Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh spoke to leaders of various parties on the issue. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju was also inviting leaders to attend the meeting.

Singh is also expected to brief leaders of different parties on the brutal terror attack targeting tourists.

Small parties were not invited to the meeting, it was learnt.

On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the biggest terror attack targeting civilians in a long period.

WHO ALL ARE NOT ATTENDING

In an official notification, the JDU said it would not be attending the all-party meeting and stated all its leaders are engaged in the Prime Minister’s program in Madhubani district.

“Whatever decision will be taken in the meeting, JDU will stand with the government decision and support the Government in the country’s interest,” a statement by Sanjay Kumar Jha, Working President, JDU, read.

In Wednesday’s meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and deliberated on the government’s strategy.

During the meeting that lasted over two-and-a-half hours, Amit Shah briefed the Prime Minister on the attack and discussed the measures to be taken in its aftermath.

The meeting that started around 6 pm and ended at around 8.30 pm was held at the Prime Minister’s 7, Lok Nayak Marg residence.
