Norwegian Ambassador to India May-Elin Stener recently travelled on the Delhi Metro for the first time, and shared her honest thoughts about the city’s public transport system on social media.
Sharing a video and pictures on her official X account, Stener posted snippets of her journey through one of the busiest metro stations, giving a glimpse into her first-hand experience as a commuter.
In a short video, she was seen walking down the stairs at Khan Market Metro station, before turning back with a cheerful thumbs up, clearly impressed.
The post also included visuals of a metro train arriving at the platform, along with a picture of her seated inside the coach, smiling at the camera.
Accompanying the visuals, she shared her honest thoughts about the experience in the caption: “Tried the Delhi Metro for the first time this weekend! Fast, clean & super-efficient. A fantastic way to get around Delhi. Should have done this sooner! Will definitely use it again.”

Her post left several users, especially Indians, swelling with pride as they appreciated both her experience and the fact that a senior diplomat chose to use public transport.
