After the roaring success of L2: Empuraan, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is now gearing up for his upcoming film, Thudaram. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the family-drama is slated for a theatrical release on April 25. On April 7, Mohanlal took to X to unveil a brand-new poster and announce the film’s release date.
In the caption, Mohanlal teased, stating, “You’ve heard the whispers. You’ve felt our arrival. It’s time to drive it home. Thudarum arrives on April 25th (sic).” In the poster, Mammootty is seen standing beside a black Ambassador car, wearing a grey chequered shirt and a white mundu.

Besides Mohanlal, Thudaram also stars a stellar cast, including Shobana, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Praba, Prakash Varma, and Aravind in crucial roles. While, the screenplay is co-written by Moorthy and KR Sunil, the film is backed by M Renjith, under Rejaputhra Visual Media.
Mohanlal is currently seen in the blockbuster L2: Empuraan, co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The high-octane action film has been shattering box office records and has emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time globally, surpassing the record previously held by Manjummel Boys (2024). It was released in theatres on March 27.
