Live: Knights hold surprise lead in tight Bulldog battle

Graham bursts through for the Knights and he’s dragged down but there’s a set restart and just a few tackles later Graham goes short to Frizell and he’s over!

Lovely stuff from the dummy half and after Smith converts it’s 10-0 Knights.

The Knights build some nice pressure, forcing back to back drop outs. Lucas is back on and Newcastle weathered his absence well.

But the Dogs hold the line and when Saulo throws a bad pass Galvin picks up the scraps. Nice stand from Canterbury.

Montoya gets some space and goes head down for the corner but Best and Hunt manage to get under the ball. Great save.

Tracey catches a kick in-goal and races back to the 20 but Lucas hasn’t seen the referee call it and tackles him.

That’s an automatic bin for the Knights backrower.

Well then! The Knights have a spread to their right around halfway, it goes through the hands to Young and he just turns it on! Tracey tries to back off, Young just breezes past him to score in the corner.

That was awesome. Smith from wide out…no good. Knights 4-0

Hunt drops a Burton bomb and on the next play Galvin cuts back inside and might have put King over!

But on examination the Knights have just managed to knock it free. A lucky escape!

Tracey makes a break on a kick return and the Dogs are on the attack. Galvin forces a drop out with a nice grubber.

But the Knights go short and Best claims it.

Just in case you missed the two matches last night – I watched them both but wish I didn’t, tried to get a bit cute and tipped the Dolphins for the upset.

 In case you missed it, Manly have named former premiership winner Kieran Foran as their coach for the rest of the season after sacking Anthony Seibold.

Seibold was axed last night as he paid the price for the Sea Eagles winless start to the season.

It’s a tall order for Foran – he only retired last season and just recently joined Manly as an assistant.

Couple of changes for both teams – the Bulldogs have benched Sitili Tupouniua with Lipoi Hopoi to start with Johnathan Sua and Fletcher Baker rounding out the bench.

The Knights have benched Tyson Frizell for Pasami Saulo but the big inclusion for them is Fletcher Sharpe at five-eighth. He’s back from a knee injury for his first match since the season opener in Las Vegas.

Hello! Round 4 of the NRL season continues with three big games.

First up it’s Dogs-Knights at Stadium Australia, then we head west for the local derby between Penrith and Parramatta before swinging north as the Cowboys play the Storm in the late match.
