Kristin Cavallari’s kids think Laguna Beach is “boring.
The 39-year-old reality TV star shares sons Camden, 13 and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 10, with ex-husband Jay Cutler but admitted the children have no interest in her fame or the upcoming show The Reunion: Laguna Beach.
She told PEOPLE: “They’ve seen little bits and pieces, but they think it’s really boring. They have no interest in watching a full episode.”
My kids are older now. I’ve got a teen and then some preteens, and so yes, I can have real conversations with them about it now.
“At the end of the day, I’m just Mom. And yes, this is something I went through, but they know me as Mom … they know that that’s not me.
“There’s a huge separation [between Laguna Beach] to who they see on a daily basis, and so they kind of think it’s all silly.”
The original show premiered in 2004 and followed Cavallari and her high school friends as they navigated life and love in Orange County, California.
Season star starred seniors Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Morgan Olsen, Trey Phillips and Christina Schuller, along with juniors Cavallari and Talan Torriero.
The upcoming two-hour reunion special features Conrad, Cavallari, Colletti, Schuller and Phillips, along with Dieter Schmitz, Alex Hooser, Jessica Smith Evans and Morgan Smith, who starred in the later two seasons.
Meanwhile, Cavallari recently shared that she thinks she and her ex-husband Jay Cutler “were supposed to be together”.
The Very Cavallari star was married to the former Chicago Bears quarterback for seven years until 2020 and explained how she felt that the pair’s romance was destiny when a listener on her Let’s Be Honest podcast asked if they should give their relationship another crack after breaking off their engagement.
Kristin said: “You ended it for a reason. Should you move on? Probably.
“However, this is where my spiritual side comes in. If you do feel this crazy pull to this person – which, yes, I’m sure psychologists would call it a toxic bond, okay – but also from the spiritual sense, maybe it’s because there’s a reason why you guys are supposed to be together and maybe there are more lessons that you have to learn.
“Listen, that’s where my logical mind and my spiritual mind sometimes battle, because it’s like, should I sit here and tell you probably you should walk away? Yes.
“But I also know I was supposed to marry my ex-husband, and I was supposed to have three kids with him. That was my journey.”
Kristin is adamant that she had a “soul contract” with Jay and believes that there is a “lesson” to be learned from the failed marriage.
The Hills star said: “I actually think we probably decided that before we came to Earth.
“I think we had a soul contract and we were supposed to be together, and we broke up when we were engaged and we came back together, and I felt this crazy pull towards him. I couldn’t make sense of it, but I knew I had to be with him even though I logically was like, he’s probably not good for me. But on a deep, spiritual level, it was like I had to be with him.”
