Pakistan resorted to overnight shelling along the LoC and targeted the civilian areas on Saturday morning.

Pakistan intensified the shelling along the Line of Control on Friday night, targeting civilian areas in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the killing of locals, including a J&K administration services officer in Rajouri.
A shell landed on his residence this morning, after which he was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed anguish over his killing.

Abdullah said that Raj Kumar Thappa, the slain officer, had taken part in an online meeting with him yesterday and accompanied the Deputy CM in the district.
“Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the J&K Administration Services. Just yesterday he was accompanying the Deputy CM around the district & attended the online meeting I chaired. Today the residence of the officer was hit by Pak shelling as they targeted Rajouri town killing our Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa. I’ve no words to express my shock & sadness at this terrible loss of life. May his soul rest in peace,” the Chief Minister posted on X.
He visited the residence of the officer and offered condolences to his family.

According to sources, three civilians were killed in Pakistan’s shelling in Rajouri, including one from Mendhar and another from RS Pura. There were also reports of injuries in the attack.
People were advised to take shelter wherever they were by the local administration. Local people said that Pakistan deliberately targeted residential areas in Rajouri and tried to damage religious places along with shops and houses.
They asked the government to give a befitting reply to Pakistan. Some Muslims from Kashmir who were struck by Pakistan’s shelling said that they were saved and given shelter by a Hindu family in Rajouri.
40-year-old Zakir Hussain died, and 3 others, including two daughters, were injured in the Kheri area of Bantalab in Jammu. The family members said that Zakir was a labourer who lost his life in the Pakistani bombing.
Smoke was seen rising from an area near the bus stand in Rajouri.
Pakistan resorted to ceasefire violations overnight and also stepped up the escalation ladder on the third straight night.
India retaliated against Pakistan on Saturday morning and launched strikes in Islamabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi. Strikes were also carried out using projectiles against three Pakistani Air Force bases, sources said.
Several explosions took place in different parts of Pakistan — two in Rawalpindi and one each in Lahore and Islamabad. The airstrikes also hit three Air Force bases: Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, Rafiqi Airbase in Shorkot (Punjab), and Murid Airbase in Chakwal (Punjab).
