Infosys shares rose nearly 3% to around Rs 1,407 on February 17 after the IT major announced a strategic partnership with AI firm Anthropic to build advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for enterprises.

The collaboration aims to help companies in highly regulated sectors use AI more effectively and improve efficiency in delivering essential services. The announcement also comes just days after Anthropic opened its first India office in Bengaluru.

“There’s a big gap between an AI model that works in a demo and one that works in a regulated industry – and if you want to close that gap, you need domain expertise,” said Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic.

“Infosys has exactly that kind of expertise across important industries: telecom, financial services, and manufacturing. Their developers are already using Claude Code to accelerate their work and to create AI agents for industries that demand precision, compliance, and deep domain knowledge.”

The two companies are working together to build smart enterprise AI tools.

They will mix Anthropic’s Claude AI models, including Claude Code, with Infosys’ Topaz AI platform. The goal is to make custom AI agents that can do complex jobs on their own.

WHAT INDUSTRIES WILL BENEFIT?

The collaboration will kick off in telecommunications with a special Anthropic Centre of Excellence and will grow to other fields.

Furthermore, a number of sectors could benefit from this collaboration.

Telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and software development are the main targets. These sectors often deal with complicated processes and strict rules.

In telecom, AI will update network systems, make customer services smoother, and speed up operations. It brings smart automation to areas that are hard to manage.

Banks will use it to spot risks quicker, handle compliance reports automatically, and give customers personal advice based on their accounts and market news.

Manufacturers can design products faster with AI simulations, cutting research time. Software teams get help to write, test, and fix code quickly, moving from idea to finished product in less time.

These AI tools are made for regulated industries, so they follow rules and stay clear. Companies can also fix old computer systems faster and save money.

“AI is not just transforming business – it is redefining the way industries operate and innovate,” said Salil Parekh, the CEO of Infosys. “Our collaboration with Anthropic marks a strategic leap toward advancing enterprise AI, enabling organisations to unlock value and become more intelligent, resilient, and responsible.”
