The Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives shook the entire country, raising concerns over the terrorist activities along the Line of Control (LoC). Amid the ongoing investigation, CNN-News18 found that Pakistan was planning attacks much before April and finalised a specific design to make an impact of the attack.
An assessment of incidents at the borders and cross-border activities indicates that the ISI was frustrated by the prevailing peace in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Since the reviewed deployment, the groups that had infiltrated earlier could not carry out attacks in the SPPR (South Pir Panjal Region).
