Coach Craig McRae insists that Collingwood are ready to continue risk taking players actually as they contemplate facing Brisbane without both Darcy Moore and Scott Pendlebury.
After suffering a pre-season calf injury, Moore made his first appearance of the season in Friday night’s 13.9 (87 ) to 7.12 ( 54 ) victory over GWS. He then started the game with a right hamstring issue in the first quarter before playing the game out.
With a quick turnaround before the Easter Thursday game against the two-time reigning chiefs, McRae later admitted that his proppy-looking captain was” not appropriate” and unlikely to go.
” He’s not right,” he said. He’s never entirely at his best, McRae claimed.
Has he injured his quadriceps, then? I’m not convinced. Not in my opinion. We will certainly conduct all the studies and learn what I’ve been told, but that’s what we’ve been told.
But I would say he’s unlikely in six weeks when we travel to Brisbane, and that he’ll be improbable the following year.
McRae had stated that Collingwood was comfortable Moore would be able to handle some hours to assist with rotations.
When asked if the view was difficult, McRae said he had no worries about sending Moore out to enjoy or about him returning to the battle after visiting the rooms in the first term.
