After the movie’s spectacular return to Perth, winning Victoria manager Chris Scott and his Eastern Australia equivalent Dean Cox have called for State of Origin to be played annually.
On Saturday night, a crowd of 58,141 fans showed up to Optus Stadium to watch Victoria fight on for a hard-fought 24-point victory, 18.17 ( 125 ) to 15.11 ( 101 ).
WA’s beginning lead came at six points after Jesse Hogan scored three quick goals, but Victoria’s star-studded squad fought back to keep the win.
The resounding success of its profit has already sparked calling for the idea to persist. It was AFL Origin’s first game since 1999.
Scott said,” I would like nothing more to see this grow.”

Given how enthusiastic State fans were about it, Scott said WA has the “front running” to sponsor Origin once more, but he also knows there will be other States who will knock down the door to taking part.
