A viral circular claiming that CBSE board exams in several Middle Eastern countries have been postponed has sparked widespread confusion among students and parents just hours before the scheduled papers.

Shared widely on platforms such as Twitter and WhatsApp, the message claims that multiple examinations, including the Class 12 English paper, have been rescheduled for CBSE students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The document appears official and is falsely attributed to the CBSE Controller of Examinations, lending it an air of credibility that has helped the misleading notice spread rapidly across social media.

CBSE ISSUES CLARIFICATION

CBSE has clarified that the circular circulating on social media is fake and has not been issued by the board. Officials said there has been no announcement or decision to reschedule any CBSE examinations in the Middle East.

The board has urged students, parents and school authorities not to pay attention to the viral message and to rely only on official communications from the board. It also advised the public to avoid sharing or forwarding unverified information that could create unnecessary confusion during the ongoing board examinations.

Also, the board authorities have advised everyone to rely only on official announcements published on the CBSE website or through verified sources.

WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATUS OF CBSE EXAMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST?

While the viral circular is fake, some exam changes have indeed been made in the Middle East. CBSE has postponed a few Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in the region due to heightened security concerns linked to tensions between Iran and Israel. In addition, certain Class 10 papers have been cancelled.

The board has informed schools about these changes through official circulars issued to CBSE-affiliated institutions in the affected countries.

CBSE has also stated that fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. The board said all further updates will be released through official notifications and communicated directly to affiliated schools.
