After a heated argument with coach Michael Maguire, Brisbane defense coach Ben Te’o will step down from the team.
The departure of the South Sydney 2014 league champion and past Broncos ahead has been confirmed by Broncos main professional Dave Donaghy.
Following last year’s fantastic last victory, the 39-year-old had agreed to extend his contract until 2028.
Before Brisbane’s 18-14 rebound win on Friday nights, Maguire and Te’o reportedly had a dispute over defensive strategies in Melbourne.
Unfortunately, Te’o’s method of scrambling defense, which was so crucial to the 2025 subject triumph, was instrumental in the Broncos ‘ victory following wave after wave of Storm attacks.

Te’o has not yet disclosed what the precise causes of his impending leave are.

” I am aware of Madge ( Maguire ) is hurt by it because he has a long relationship with Ben and deeply cares for his people,” he said.
Te’o’s contribution to last year’s title win was “exceptional,” according to Donaghy, and there were “internal and physical” options to replace him.
When asked if Maguire was challenging to work with, Donaghy claimed the coach had carried out the contract he had signed and that the whole organization was moving in the right direction, as demonstrated by the 2025 championship win.
After the Te’o consequences story broke, Brisbane people Ben Talty and Brendan Piakura confronted the media this night.
Te’o was described as” a fantastic coach” by Talty, a late blooming prop.
